    1. Determinants of chronic diseases and childhood development

The change in the country’s epidemiological profile in recent years has led to an increase in the prevalence of chronic diseases in children. The group of clinical conditions studies has a critical impact on the quality of life of the child population and requires studies aimed at understanding and treating the group of patients affected, as well as studying forms of prevention, including health care, to deal with these problems. It is worth highlighting several current hypotheses associating the origin of these conditions with the gestation period, which increases the relevance of deepening these studies in the maternal-child area.

    2. Infectious and respiratory diseases in childhood

Infectious and respiratory diseases remain a significant group of clinical conditions that affect the well-being of many children and have a relevant impact on the morbidity and mortality of this group of patients. This line of research aims to study this group of diseases and improve the diagnosis and treatment of affected patients.

    3. Autoimmune and inflammatory diseases in childhood

A significant increase in clinical studies related to this group of diseases has been observed in recent years. This line of research aims to understand the pathogenesis and study new forms of treatment for these clinical conditions in childhood.

    4. Biological markers for diagnosis and prognosis of clinical conditions in maternal and child health

Every day, new biological markers are developed for an accurate and early diagnosis and more reliable prognostic monitoring of various pathologies affecting maternal and child health. The markers mentioned above are the object of study in this line of research.
